Yet Another Simple Slideshow (YASS) for WordPress - Free

YASS is a very simple free slideshow for WordPress. It is simple yet elegant and fully loaded with lots of great features like download option for every slide. This is the only unique slideshow that contains a download feature for every slide. You can specify any documents for download like, whitepapers, pdf, doc files etc..

It has many other features like auto slider, next previous arrows, images with numbered buttons and links. Every image can be linked to URL that you specify in the wp slideshow admin options. Auto slider time also can be set via WP slider admin options. Auto slider can be set to start or stop initially when slideshow loads. Also we can specify the numbers or bullet points for images indication. In this free wp slideshow all the font sizes, colors are fully customizable through wp admin.

  1. Download the Plugins
  2. Login to your wordpress/wp-admin
  3. Go to Plugins > Click on Add new>Upload
  4. Click on Browse and locate "wp-yasslideshow.zip" plugin click on Upload file and click on Install
  5. Click on plugin "Activate" to enable the plugin. That's it, you are done.
  6. Please make "wp-content/plugins/wp-yasslideshow/images" ,"wp-content/plugins/wp-yasslideshow/downloads" directories writeable(755)
  7. go to Image YAS Slideshow settings on leftside menu on admin side and configure if required to change the width, height,background colors etc...
  8. you can find "Make Confix.xml" button in the bottom of the plugin parameters list page please click on it.

How to use it as a widget

After installing "wp-yasslideshow" plugin in your theme just follow below instructions.
  1. Go to Appearance > Widgets, we can simply drag & drop "YAS Slideshow" widget where ever you want to display it.
  2. To configure your slideshow settings click on "YAS Slideshow settings" on the leftside, and edit settings and click on "make config.xml" button.
  3. If you want display this widget on any certain pages of your site just you need to install "widget-context" (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget- context/) plugin .

How to use plug-in in pages/posts

Use the shortcode [yass_slideshow] on any page/post editors from admin To display this slideshow on your posts/pages

If you want to use it in the theme / template

Open your theme php file and add the line <?php echo do_shortcode('[yass_slideshow]');?> where ever you like to show the slide show.
